Now, it’s time for pretty Kritii to speak:

The Chernobyl disaster was a catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. An explosion and fire released large quantities of radioactive particles into the atmosphere, which spread over much of the western USSR and Europe. At the time the plant was under the direct jurisdiction of the central authorities of the Soviet Union.

The Chernobyl disaster was considered the worst nuclear power plant accident in history and is one of only two classified as a level 7 event, the max on the INES (the other being the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011, but that has it’s own story). The battle to contain the contamination and avert a greater catastrophe ultimately involved over 500,000 workers. During the accident itself, 31 people died, and afterwards the long-term effects such as cancers and deformities gifted to the innocent along the plant’s reach.

Ultimately, they failed to stabilize the area, failed to keep their citizens alive, failed to save their city, so they abandoned it.

Now, the park is empty. Quiet. Rid of any living human being. The fawna have been left behind and over time it has become their home. They have silently evolved to meld with the cancerous environment. It is desecrated, however as if by some sick magic the verdance has grown back and over the remains.  Suddenly, we came.

And found it's vintage paleness as the door to refuge.

It is now an irradiated eden. Our eden.

Our park

Our amusement.
